Dan Ferry
Along with expressing my gratitude for an amazing experience at the Elite Replay Academy last weekend, I wanted to share with you something more than the traditional "thank you." After having watched David Almand's training videos this week (both his rules video and his replay training), along with watching a recording of Jamie Willliams' first Replay 101-401 training of this off-season, I realized the full scale and the powerful impact that the Elite Replay Academy had on me. There was not one moment, not one particular play, not one rule application, or even one specific piece of the replay process that I could cite as the catalyst for my realization. All I know is, once I had finished these three trainings, it hit me just how much more confidently I process everything now after having attended the Academy. Don't get me wrong, I am fully aware that I have a long way to go to becoming a replay official, but my experience at the Elite Replay Academy last weekend, the incredible amount of opportunities to work simulations, the multiple sessions in the ROC, coupled with real-time feedback from the clinicians, engendered in me a sense of confidence that I had been lacking; a sense of confidence that I will most certainly need if I am to succeed as a replay official. And for that, I am exceedingly grateful!
I wanted to personally thank you for the camp last weekend. I’ve attended many on‑field camps over the years, and I’ve spent the last four seasons working on the field for Coach Crowly. Over the past year, I’ve really begun exploring replay to determine whether that’s the direction I want to pursue for the remainder of my football career. Your camp was, by far, the most enjoyable and most comprehensive camp I’ve ever attended. No other camp provides the level of access, growth, and learning opportunities that your Elite Replay Camp offers.
I originally met Eric and Bill at a smaller camp in Dallas this past January, where I attended as a replay participant. We had the opportunity to talk extensively, and Eric later opened the link for me to join the Pittsburgh camp. That turned out to be the best possible outcome. Because I signed up late, I was paired with Mark Evans—essentially giving me a personal tutor throughout the entire camp. Not once did Mark make me feel inadequate or anything less than a peer. Jason Lambert was also in our group and was incredibly helpful. Every time I rotated through a station, he pulled me aside with specific, actionable feedback on how to improve my delivery.
Their support speaks volumes about the quality of your staff and their willingness to help develop the next generation of replay officials. Every clinician I interacted with made me confident that pursuing the path of a replay communicator is the right decision. They made us feel valued, and it was clear they were genuinely invested in helping us advance in our careers. Again, a true testament to your team.
Just want to send you a quick note of thanks! This weekend was the best clinic I have ever attended. The amout of equipment time I got was amazing. Was able to fine tune my skills with pausing the video at the impactful moment, locate angles to view action, and locate shot for the Referee to see at the on-field monitor. The feedback I got was very productive. The staff was forthcoming with the areas I have improved on, and the areas I still need work.
Anyway, I can’t thank YOU enough for the effort and time you have poured into me. I would not be where I am without it. Truly!
I wanted to take a few minutes to let you know that I truly got a lot of very good information and instruction in the camp this past weekend. I learned more about being the RO than I learned in any other replay camp I've attended. I wanted to specifically point out Mr. Jordan during our time in the Command Center. He devoted a lot of time to both myself and John Melind, and his attention/guidance solidified the classroom instruction we received throughout the weekend.
Again, I thoroughly enjoyed the camp and definitely plan to continue my ongoing training by attending this camp in the future!
I want to thank you for an excellent clinic experience. I really appreciated the instruction, the feedback, and the opportunity to learn from such a strong group of officials. It was clear how much thought and effort went into making the clinic practical and challenging. I've been to others and yours is without doubt the best one available.
I also appreciate you sharing the positive feedback from your evaluators. You will be able to count on me to be dedicated and prepared to deliver quality work while striving for improvement every week.
I know you will be sending out a survey, but I wanted to personally thank you all for the time and effort you put into this clinic. I am definitely still processing everything that I learned over the weekend.
I can say that this was the best clinic that I have attended over the years. Every clinician brought a tremendous amount of knowledge and value, and it really showed in the quality of the sessions.
Thank you again for all you did to make it such a great experience. I am already looking forward to next year’s clinic.
Just wanted to say thanks to you for a great weekend. I really enjoyed a wonderful time of learning and growing this weekend. There is never a bad time to talk football. You and the staff take it to the next level. Always picking up a nugget in each session. You’re the best.
Hope your travels home were uneventful. Get some R & R and looking forward to the time together in Vegas the end of March.
